TRIGR was hot on Graham last week. It made the Top 5 Longs on Thursday and Friday. The stock could have been bought around $67 both days. Yesterday, the stock topped out just shy of $75 and is currently holding above $74. Gains of around 10% were available. I’m curious if anyone made any money from Graham.
Rex Energy (Nasdaq:REXX) did pretty well following Friday’s appearance in the Top 5 as well. Perfect World (Nasdaq:PWRD) and Canadian Solar (Nasdaq:CSIQ) didn’t fare so well. But they both continue to make the list on a regular basis. That means nothing fundamental has changed. The deciding factor with both stocks appears to be the direction of the overall market, which has been down. I expect PWRD and CSIQ will make nice moves higher when (if?) we get some upside for stocks.
I also want to point out that we’ve seen a few new names on the Top 5. On the Short list, Helico Biosciences (Nasdaq:HLCS) has been on the list for a couple days. It’s not there today, but doesn’t mean it’s no longer viable as a short.
On the Long side, Life Science Research (NYSE:LSR) made it’s Top 5 debut today. The stock opened at $27.98 and is currently aorund $0.20 lower. Argon St. (Nasdaq:STST) is also a first-timer on the Longs list. The stock opened at $24.59 is currently trading in the $24.20s.
Keep an eye on both.
